Deadly Sioux Falls Apartment Fire

One person is dead in an early morning apartment fire in Sioux Falls.

Batallion Chief Travis Thom of Sioux Falls Fire Rescue says crews were called around 4 am Tuesday at 1004 North Covell Avenue.

Thom says the first firefighters to arrive found visible smoke and flames coming from the eight unit building.

Thom says the person removed from the building was pronounced dead and a police investigation is underway into the person's death.
