David Janssen Chased The One-Armed Man On Our TV’s
The chase began in 1963. The chase for the one-armed man. The real killer.
Each week millions of viewers were glue to their television’s every week to watch ‘The Fugitive’ and to see if Dr. Richard Kimble would continue to elude the law…and to see if he would finally find the one-armed man. The real murderer.
The two-part final episode aired in August of 1967. That 2nd part was the most watched program in television history up to that time. That’s right, it was kind of the 1960′s version of ‘Who shot J.R.?’, except this was ‘Geez, he finally got his man!’
Actor David Janssen portrayed the ever-fleeing Dr. Kimble. So whatever happened to David Janssen?
Well, some viewers will remember his as ‘Harry O’ in the mid 1970′s, a good show but nothing close to the legacy of ‘The Fugitive’.
Janssen died of a heart attack in 1980 at the much too young age of 48.
