Daniel Boone Was A Man, Was A Big Man

First he was Davey Crockett.  Then he was Daniel Boone.

‘He’ was actor Fess Parker.

‘Daniel Boone’ aired for some 165 episodes over six seasons beginning in 1964.  Along with his Indian companion Mingo (Ed Ames), Daniel settled the wilderness.

Oh, no not exactly historical, not exactly factual.  But entertaining?  Yes!  Plus, it led a lot of school aged children to find out more of this Frontiersman, to find the real Daniel Boone.

And then there was the theme song.  We could all sing along to it.

‘Daniel Boone was a man, was a big man….’
