An elderly man from Crocker, South Dakota died Thursday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of two state highways five miles east of Bradley, in Clark County.

The Highway Patrol says Floyd August Maas, 89, was westbound on State Highway 20 just after 5:30pm when he drove through a stop sign at State Highway 25.

The Maas vehicle was struck by a northbound SUV driven by Theodore A. Warkenthien, 57,of Clark.

Maas was not wearing a seat belt. He died of his injuries at a Watertown hospital.

Warkenthien had minor injuries, while a passenger, 53-year-old Kim L. Warkenthien, had serious injuries. Both were wearing seat belts.

They also were taken to a Watertown hospital.
