GRANITE FALLS, Minn. (AP) — Court documents say the Minnesota woman interviewed in a South Dakota investigation into the deaths of two newborns has admitted giving birth to the babies.

A petition to have Kelly Jean Anderson-Person civilly committed states that she acknowledged being pregnant in 2009 and 2011 and that the infant remains found in eastern South Dakota last fall were her babies. The court document does not say how the babies died or how the remains were located in a tree grove near Fish Lake, S.D. Anderson-Person has not been charged.

A commitment hearing is scheduled for Friday in Yellow Medicine County. The West Central Tribune reports the petition says Anderson-Person pulled a gun and held it to her head when authorities executed a search warrant at her Clarkfield home Aug. 13.
