When you hear the phrase 'country music', what's the first thing you think of?

Maybe a certain artist. Maybe cheatin' songs, drinkin' songs, patriotic songs, love songs, or good storytelling.

But what about sports?

OK, OK, sports may not be the very first thing you think about in relation to country music, but we've had some great sports themed country hit's down through the years. Remember Kenny Chesney's 'Boys Of Fall'?

Well, the legendary Kenny Rogers released a song back in 1999 that perfectly captures what a lot of us did as a kid. You didn't need a bunch of friends to have an 'edge-of-your-seat' baseball game. Nope. All you need was a ball, a bat, a glove...and an imagination.

The song is called 'The Greatest'. Oh, and by the way the guy who wrote the song? Well, his name is Don Schlitz and he wrote another little Kenny Rogers ditty you may have heard about. It's called 'The Gambler'.
