I've always admired runners. They are, for the most part, lean, physically fit specimens with boundless energy, stamina and dedication.

I am not.  Nor do I ever anticipate being so. I did try jogging for one very short period in time almost a decade ago and my knees let me know it was not the activity for me!

If you, however, aspire to acquire these characteristics, whether to actually run a 5K or simply boost your fitness level, Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation in conjunction with 605 Running Company (in downtown Sioux Falls) has program for you!

Couch to 5K will offer advice on different running programs, equipment and even nutrition to help make your training more efficient, easier and fun with the end result being - you achieve your goals!

The next meeting is Wednesday, April 29, 2015 from 6 to 7 pm at Fawick Park at 200 South Second Avenue in downtown Sioux Falls. The program is absolutely free and open to everyone age 14 and up, but you do need to pre-register 5 business days prior to the event.

Just go to the Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation website, click on the online registration and payment button to the right of the page and you're on your way. For more information call 978-6932 or click here.
