"To Protect and To Serve" - that was the motto I grew up seeing on police cars. And police men and women put their lives on the line to protect us every day across the country.

A few years ago 'dashcams' were installed in many police cars to help document calls officers were responding to. Many of the videos we see are of high speed chases, or pulling over drunk drivers or approaching dangerous situations.

In my mind that's the "Protect" side of the motto.

In Rosenberg, Texas last weekend a young boy standing on a deserted street, tossing a football in the air to himself was approached by an on-duty police officer. What happened next more than fulfills the 'To Serve' side of the motto in my book.

Nicely done, officer.
