Construction Has Started on a New Restaurant next to Borrowed Bucks
In just a few months, you’ll be able to enjoy a Mt. Mushmore burger and a Bud Light tap at one of the best burger places in town.
JL Beers is set to open a second Sioux Falls location in late spring. The new restaurant will be located right next to Borrowed Bucks Roadhouse on Western Avenue.

The first Sioux Falls JL Beers is in downtown on South Phillips. Congratulations to anyone who has eaten there, because it is not an easy place to get into. With only 47 seats, the place is constantly packed. Their slogan is "Seating for 1,000 - 47 at a time."
But, once you are able to grab a seat you’ll taste one of the best burgers you’ve ever put your mouth around. Don’t forget about the beer. They have tap beer, imported bottles and domestic cans.
Kirk Keupp, co-owner of Borrowed Bucks, said the new location will also have outside seating.
I asked Kirk what the most popular burger is at JL Beers and there was no hesitation, it’s the Humpty Dumpty burger - a burger with a fried egg and cheese. Kirk likes to add bacon to his. I’ll stick to my usual – the Great American cheeseburger (no pickles) and fries with beer cheese dip.
You’ll find other JL Beers locations in Bismarck, Fargo, Grand Forks, Moorhead, and Minneapolis.
