Cody Larson Will Suit Up for Jackrabbits This Year
Jackrabbit Men’s Basketball got a huge boost courtesy of the NCAA. The sanctioning body’s Subcommittee for Legislative Relief granted South Dakota State’s legislative release waiver for a one-time transfer exception on Monday, which means that junior Cody Larson can play for the Jackrabbit men’s basketball team in the upcoming season.
According to a press release, coach Scott Nagy was appreciative of the decision. “We want to thank the committee and the NCAA for taking the time to look at Cody’s waiver. We appreciate the fact that this ruling allows him the opportunity to be eligible to compete immediately.”
The ruling grants Larson, a Sioux Falls native and transfer from Florida, two years of eligibility with the Jackrabbits. It may not make the Jackrabbits an immediate lock for a third-straight NCAA tournament berth. However the result from the NCAA will certainly bolster Jackrabbit Men’s basketball for the time that the former Roosevelt Rough Rider suits up for SDSU.
