(AP) – They’ve got the nominees – and now they have a host for this year’s “CMT Artists of the Year” show.

Comedian Ron White will be at the mic for this year’s celebration of the top performers. Those honored will be Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line, Hunter Hayes and Tim McGraw.

The show will air live for the first time this year. And a top official at CMT says the network is taking “a bit of a risk” in signing White – who can be off-color in his work sometimes.

The show is December 3 in Nashville, Tennessee.
