When I was growing up, I loved 'Leave It To Beaver'.

And so did millions of others, because it was one of the most popular TV shows of it's time.

So what made it so popular?  Sex?  Violence?  Action?  Explosions? Blue Humor?

No, none of the above.  In fact, those were the exact things you'd never see on 'Leave It To Beaver', or any of the other sit-com's back then.

No, I think it was just the character development of the show.  I mean, we all knew a kid like Eddie Haskell, we all wanted a big brother like Wally, and of course, we all wanted to be the Beaver.

And each week the warm, gentle humor of the show would begin when you heard these magic words...

'And Jerry Mathers as the Beaver.'
