Classic Country Star Joe Stampley’s Son Is Keeping It Country
Joe Stampley was one of country music’s biggest star’s in the 1970′s and 1980′s.
Beginning with the 1972 #1 hit ‘Soul Song’, Joe kept having hit after hit after hit. ‘Roll On Big Mama’, ‘All These Things’, ‘Red Wine And Blue Memories’, plus of course those great duet hit’s he had with Moe Bandy (Hey Moe! Hey Joe!).
Joe’s last trip into the Country Top Ten was in 1984, his duet with Moe ‘Where’s the Dress’.
Now, we have Mr. Stampley, the Next Generation.
Joe’s son Tony has been recording some great country music and much like his Dad, he’s definitely ‘keeping it country’.
Right now here at Classic Country KXRB, we’re featuring Tony’s new single ‘When I Get On A Roll’. We don’t play very much of the new country music, becasue while many mainstream country stations won’t play a song because it’s ‘too country’, we don’t play a new song if it’s not country enough!
Tony Stampley is country enough. Here’s to hoping there’s more on the way from the new generation of Stampley!
