The annual SDHSAA meetings are currently going on and the addition of a shot clock for Class B basketball has been approved.

Starting with the 2017-2018 season, all schools in South Dakota will use a shot clock for girls and boys basketball games. Class AA implemented the shot clock first, followed by Class A for the 2014-2015 season.

This won't come as a huge change for some Class B schools. Class B schools that played at holiday classics, tournaments, or road games against teams in Class A played with a shot clock in those contests.

Earlier this year the committee voted 7-0 in favor of adding a shot clock. Activities directors within Class B voted 48-21 to approve the measure.
