Sioux Falls City Council discussed setting new parameters for homeowners to landscape boulevards in front of their home, also known as strip landscaping.

Council was presented with certain regulations that would be in place should approval be granted to homeowners, limiting the types of plants or shrubs that would be intrusive in nature or paving of boulevards.

The city currently has an ordinance that prohibits strip landscaping, but has not enforced the ordinance and has even given a homeowner a gardening award for planting in their boulevard.

A second reading of the ordinance and likely a vote will take place April 5th.
