Chuckulator Is Not The Name Of A Pro-Wrestler, Ice Cream Or Shoe, But You Will Hear That Name At The Corn Palace Stampede Rodeo

Expect to hear the name Chuckulator several times this weekend at the 44th Annual Corn Palace Stampede Rodeo in Mitchell, South Dakota.

Chuckulator is not just a horse that is being provided by Sutton Rodeo Inc. of Onida for the Corn Palace Stampede Rodeo.  Chuckulator is also the 2012 Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association Saddle Bronc Horse of the Year, and he will be doing his best to make life just a little tougher for cowboys on Saturday night.

Steve Sutton, part owner of Sutton Rodeo Inc., has been providing livestock to this event since 1971, and considers Chuckulator a "gem" from their ranch.  Sutton says,

Sometimes you get rewarded.

Sutton adds that there are times they may have close to 700 head of horses at the ranch, with only about 10% of those becoming pro-horses.

It was in 1883 when the Sutton family started breeding and raising livestock, but it took until 1926 before they started doing business with rodeos, and they have continued ever since, often times traveling with the whole family.

Expect about 400 competitors at the Horseman's Sports Arena through Sunday, with Chuckulator expected to see action Saturday night.  Contestants will be coming from the Badlands, Prairie and Great Lakes circuits and even the Wrangler National Finals qualifiers.
