Chris Young and Cassadee Pope have a big hit on their hands with "Think of You," their duet from Young's most recent album, I'm Comin' Over. The song recently hit No. 1 -- and The Boot's readers voted the track Song of the Year in the 2016 Golden Boot Awards.

Young released "Think of You" as a single in January. The song is the second single from I'm Comin' Over; it follows the disc's title track, which also went to No. 1 on the charts. Young decided to ask Pope to sing with him on “Think of You” after watching her perform at an acoustic radio station event. She was his first ask — and she, obviously, said yes.

“She’s definitely somebody that can sing her butt off,” Young tells The Boot of Pope. “And that was really the defining thing in me wanting to ask her do a duet: She has an amazing voice. She’s an amazing artist.

“One of the things I want to be known as, first and foremost, is, I’m a songwriter. Yes, I loved producing this project and putting my stamp on that part of it. But I’m a vocalist,” Young continues. “I want people to leave my show or get done listening to my record, going, ‘Man, I love that that guy can sing like that.’”

The admiration between the two stars is mutual: Pope calls Young "the brother I never had," and says that getting to work with him on the hit -- and sing it together in concert -- is "such a treat."

"Getting to sing with him in general is amazing; he’s one of the best singers I’ve ever had the privilege of working with," Pope gushes. "The best part of touring with him was seeing the progression of people singing “Think of You” back to us: At first, nobody really knew it, and then come March, people were singing it back to us so loudly. And now, we’ll just put the mics out."

"Think of You" earned nearly 50 percent of votes in the 2016 Golden Boot Awards, besting songs by CamTim McGrawCarrie UnderwoodChris Janson and Thomas Rhett to earn the Song of the Year title.
