There seems to be a lot of music out there these days that try to somehow disguise itself as 'country'. For those of us that have loved country music for decades, well, we just sort of shake our heads and wait for the genre' to swing back to real country music.

And it may not be happening fast enough, but it is happening. Over the past few years there has been great 'real country' music released from artist's like Teea Goans, Monte Good, Mo Pitney, Jamey Johnson, Ward Davis and others. And of course some of our greatest classic country star's have released new music, people like T.G. Shepard, Clint Black, Willie, the Hag and more.

And now, a new name to add to the list of new artist's to keep an eye (and an ear) on.

His name is Chris Chitsey and it was last year that I first heard of this young man. A song called 'Lonely In Tucson' came across my desk and, unlike so many others that are rehashed 1980's Rock-n-Roll or some sort of hick-hop rap, this was....was...honest to goodness real country music! So we started playing it right along with the George's and the Hank's, Waylon and Dolly and the Oaks.

So then the only question became: Can the young man follow it up? Was this a 'one and done'?

We have the answer. Chris is back with 'Just Don't Know It Yet'.

Okay, now I had to find out more about this guy. Well, I learned from his website he's a native Texan who cut his musical teeth on the honky-tonk circuit in the Lone Star state. That's pretty good musical ground.

And so, with 'Just Don't Know It Yet' playing alongside Randy Travis, Alan Jackson and George Strait, let's hope for more great 'real country' from this young man Chris Chitsey!
