Changes In Store For 2014 Legends For Kids Event
The Hy-Vee/Sanford Legends For Kids is celebrating its 10th year in 2014 and the event is getting bigger and better – and that means some changes are coming.
The biggest switch will be the venue for the banquet, which has been held at the Ramkota Exhibit Hall since its inception. But due to space constraints, this year’s banquet will be at the Sanford Pentagon, June 12th.

One of the other changes for this year’s event is a more centralized location for the various clinics, which will now nearly all call the Sanford Sports Complex home:
The kids triathlon has also been given an upgrade for 2014. The event has been moved out of Sioux Falls to nearby Wall Lake, meaning the course will include lake swimming for the first time ever:
This year’s celebrity lineup features baseball hall of famer Dave Winfield, college basketball hall of famer Christian Laettner, and two-time Super Bowl champ Terrell Davis, along with returning South Dakota natives Mike Miller of the Memphis Grizzlies and Chad Greenway of the Minnesota Vikings:
Last year’s event raised a record $165,000 for local youth sports. In the nine-year history of the event, more than $1.1 million has been raised.
