November 18th is International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day. It's a day for people affected by suicide loss to find comfort and share stories of healing and hope.

In honor of the day, the Helpline Center is holding a 'Luminaries for a Loved Life' event on November 18th at Augustana University. The event will begin at 4:00 PM.

Survivors will be asked to create a luminary in remembrance of their loved one. The bags and supplies for decorating the luminaries will be provided.

Families are also invited to bring personal items to decorate the bags if they wish. The luminaries will then be placed along a pathway during the Remembrance Ceremony.

After the ceremony, survivors will be invited to join the Luminary Walk beginning at 5:30 PM and remember the lives of those lost to suicide.

The event will conclude with a time of gathering with refreshments at the Augustana Humanities Building located at 2120 South Grange Avenue.
