Native American Day is Monday, October 9. A great place to celebrate is at the Native American Wacipi at the Sioux Falls Multi-Cultural Center.

A wacipi, or as it's sometimes known, powwow, is a Native American gathering withon dancing, singing, and family celebration.

Powwows celebrate the connections to tradition and spirituality, to the Earth and to one another in a social, personal and spiritual meeting...No other event captures the Native American spirit like the powwow -Saint Joseph Indian School

The event at the Multi-cultural Center is free and open to the public. The evening starts with a community dinner at 6:00 PM. The Grand Entry is at 7:00 PM.

The Multi-Curtural Center is located at 515 N. Main, Sioux Falls, Sioux Falls.

The Wacipi is sponsored by the Multi-Cultural Center, the Catholic Diocese of Sioux Falls, and the Sioux Council Boy Scouts.
