(AP) - Carole King and The Eagles are among those who will be given Kennedy Center Honors.

King says she's been very lucky to do the work she loves for so many years, and it's even more rewarding to know that she has touched the lives of so many people. The Eagles say popular music is one of America's greatest exports and they are truly humbled to be part of the global connection.

Other Kennedy Center Honors recipients include director George Lucas, actresses Cicely Tyson and Rita Moreno and former Boston Symphony Orchestra musical director Seiji Ozawa.

They will receive their honors December 6 in Washington.
