Bye, Bye, Bob’s: Hello Cluckin’ Good Chicken and BBQ

Stick a fork in Bob’s Carryout and Delivery on West 12th Street in Sioux Falls. The legendary restaurant where residents all over the Sioux Empire have turned to get broasted chicken, mouthwatering burgers, sandwiches, ribs and other American eats for a number of years is about to close its doors (July 23).

It truly is the end of an era here in Sioux Falls.

KSFY TV is reporting that Bob's Carryout recently notified loyal customers and fans of the sad news via their Facebook page.

However, the news of the impending closure isn't entirely hopeless. KSFY TV says, Bob's Carryout and Delivery as we know it, will soon re-open, in a new location, under a new name, Cluckin’ Good Chicken and BBQ.

The move will take the chicken and other foods you've loved for decades from the west side to the east side of Sioux Falls.

The new location is slated to open sometime in August in the former Topper’s Pizza location at 3607 East 10th Street.

Owners Ben and Jona Weiland told KSFY TV, the new location will allow them to focus on carryout, catering, and delivery. Cluckin' Good Chicken and BBQ will also offer a few more seats inside for anyone wishing to stop by and dine.

Most importantly, the Weiland's say the new restaurant will still continue to offer the same great chicken that customers have come to know and love throughout the years.

Cluckin' Good Chicken and BBQ will continue to have the same phone number as the old Bob's Carryout and Delivery, and Bob's gift certificates will be honored at the new location according to the KSFY TV report.
