I have talked to numerous people that have been down with the flu. And they are telling me how hard it has hit them.

Several businesses said they have put safeguards in place to help their employees and customers avoid catching the flu. Health officials warned that the flu season started early this year, and it has been more widespread and dangerous than usual.

Cleaning several times a day has been taking place at many companies. And workers are encouraged to use hand sanitizers regularly.

Another very important thing to consider is avoiding hand shakes for now. Just advise the other person that you intend no rudeness, but are trying to protect them.

As I'm Googling around this morning, I'm discovering that many of the things you handle daily are actually dirtier than a toilet seat. I made a small list for you:

  • Cash
  • Coffee Pot Handles
  • Refrigerator Handles
  • Sinks and Faucets
  • Meeting Rooms
  • Telephones
  • Computer Keyboards and Mouses
  • Desks
  • Elevator Buttons

I advise to get a flu shot, avoid contact with others and use hand sanitizer. At least then, you're not inviting the flu bug.
