Buffalo gives Green Bay, Aaron Rodgers all sorts of trouble

The Green Bay Packers five-game winning streak came to an end Sunday, with a 21-13 loss to the Buffalo Bills. 

After Sunday's loss, the Packers have still have never beat the Bills in Buffalo. And it looked like Aaron Rodgers and the offense never got off the bus.

Rodgers wasn't in 'MVP' form, and communication between him and his receivers was lacking. His receivers dropped a ton of passes. And the biggest drop came when Rodgers threw a pass that went through Jordy Nelson's hands. It looked like if Nelson would have caught it, it might have gone for six points and a touchdown.

Rodgers was 17 of 42 (40 percent) for 185 yards, zero touchdowns and two interceptions. He had a 34.3 passer rating against the Bills.

Buffalo's defense was really good against the 'MVP' candidate. Bacarri Rambo picked off Rodgers twice, and Mario Williams was a force on the defensive line all day. On the first play of the Packers last drive of the game, he got his hand on the ball that forced Rodgers to fumble. The Bills to recovered for a safety in the end zone. (Eddie Lacy recovered the fumble, but isn't allowed to advance the ball under two minutes. Per an NFL rule, only Rodgers is allowed to do so).

The positives from this game are the run game and the defense held Buffalo to only field goals. (The Bills only touchdown came on a punt return for a score).The defense did give a lot of big plays and miss tackles, but made stops when they had to. Green Bay's defense gave Rodgers a final opportunity to lead a comeback in the last two minutes. But Rodgers had his third turnover of the game and the Bills went on to win the game.

In the run game, Lacy started to run the ball hard on the first drive. However, Mike McCarthy didn't use it on a consistent basis. Lacy ran 15 times for 97 yards and a touchdown against the Bills, Sunday. He averaged 6.5 yards per carry on the ground.

Now the Packers aren't in the drivers seat when it comes to their own playoff destiny. With a loss Sunday and a Detroit win, the Lions moved back into first place. It will likely come down to Week 17 when Detroit comes to Lambeau for the NFC North division crown. Green Bay is also the six seed now following its loss to the Bills.

The Packers play at Tampa Bay next week and then close out the regular season, like I said, at home against Detroit.

Sunday's game was just an ugly loss for the Packers. Now hopefully Green Bay can shake it off.
