Brookings Suspends Fire Chief for 2 Weeks

BROOKINGS, S.D. (AP) - The city of Brookings has suspended its fire chief for two weeks.

City Manager Jeff Weldon tells the Brookings Register that Fire Chief Darrell Hartmann has been placed on unpaid administrative leave "for personnel reasons."

Weldon says he met with the chief on Wednesday and placed him on the unpaid leave.

Weldon says privacy rules preclude the release of any additional information about the matter.
