Brian Robison and the Minnesota Vikings have agreed to a new contract extension that helps the Vikings in salary cap space.

ESPN NFL Reporter Field Yates announced the deal early on Friday morning, and the extra year will keep Robison with the team through the 2018 season.

The move not only helps Robison with a contract extension, but it also helps the Vikings when it comes to the salary cap according to ESPN's Ben Goessling.

Robison has been with the Vikings since he was drafted in the 4th round of the 2007 NFL Draft. He has 269 total tackles, 56 sacks, and 13 forced fumbles in his career.
