Brandon Valley, Dell Rapids Hold First Round Leads At State Boys Golf Tournaments

Brandon Valley and Dell Rapids hold first round leads at the South Dakota boys state golf tournaments.

The Lynx lead Sioux Falls Lincoln by three strokes in the Class AA tournament at Cattail Crossing in Watertown. Rapid City Stevens is four shots out of first place.  Sioux Falls O'Gorman and Sioux Falls Washington round out the top five.

Brandon Valley's Riley Duncanson leads the individual standings after shooting a first round 71.  Duncanson's teammate Alex Hamer, Washington's Will Grevlos, and Sam Musch of Stevens are tied for second place, one shot back at 72.  Lincoln's Tommy Vining and Taylor Schultz of Stevens are tied for fifth, three shots out of the lead.

At the Class A tournament at Southern Hills in Hot Springs, Dell Rapids holds an 11 stroke lead over second place Aberdeen Roncalli.  Vermillion is third and Parkston fourth.  St. Thomas More, Hot Springs and Milbank are in a three-way tie for fifth.

Dell Rapids' Adam Karst and And Roncalli's Keaton Deiter are tied for first place at 74.

Both tournaments conclude on Tuesday.
