Since it is football season, we should take some time to remember a Super Bowl Champion from Sioux Falls.  However, his family didn’t stay long in the city so his ties to South Dakota are not very strong.

Dallas Clark of the Baltimore Ravens was born in Sioux Falls, but grew up in Iowa.  His collegiate years were spent with the Iowa Hawkeyes, given the John Mackey award as the best tight end as a senior.

Most of his NFL career was spent catching passes for the Indianapolis Colts, winning Super Bowl 41 over the Chicago Bears.  He set the franchise single-season record for reception yards in 2008.

Clark is with his third team in the Ravens after spending a year with Tampa Bay in 2012.  Sunday against the Steelers, Clark caught three passes for nine yards.
