Boonies Bar & BarBQ announced plans today (December 19) to close their doors on February 2, 2014.

Manager Vinnie Olson made the announcement via Facebook:

"Well folks, The time has come. It really pains me to say it, but Boonies Bar will sadly be officially closing its doors on Sunday Feb 2nd.

It has been a good run, 3 years almost. I have had a real good time rocking these shows with all of you guys. I have made tons of new friends and have had the honor of watching a lot of you artist grow. Getting to be part of the local music scene has been awesome. I would like to thanks every one who has helped in the past. I plan on still be active in some shows here in Sioux Falls. How exactly I'm not too sure yet.

BUT till then we have lots of shows coming your way. Please support the local artists who will be playing on our stage in the next month and a half.

The last show will be Saturday Feb 1st & I think its only right to be the last to play on the stage I helped build just a few years ago. So, come check out my group the Black MASK Armada for Boonies Bar's LAST CALL!.

And as always.....SUPPORT LOCAL MUSIC - YOU ARE THE SCENE!"

Boonies is located at 805 N. West Avenue in Sioux Falls near the Sioux Falls Arena.

Boonies had gained a strong following by presenting hard rock, metal, rap and funk shows and giving an open stage to local musicians to learn their craft. Always sad to see a live music venue fold.
