ABERDEEN, S.D. (AP) — Bond has been set at $50,000 for a 23-year-old Aberdeen man charged in connection with a shooting that sent another man to the hospital.

The Aberdeen American News reports Abdirhman Ahmad Noor made his initial court appearance Monday. Noor, who is also known as Ali Abdi Yerrow, has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault and one count of attempted murder.

Police in Aberdeen responded to a report of gunshots Friday evening and found Dar'na Tansmore with multiple gunshot wounds. He is in stable but critical condition at a hospital.

Police Chief Dave McNeil says authorities believe an argument or altercation happened before the shooting.

The newspaper reports Noor's attorney argued for a personal recognizance bond or minimal cash bond saying his client is not a flight risk.
