PIERRE, S.D. (AP) — Searchers have recovered the body of a boater who went missing in the Missouri River in northern South Dakota.

The Mobridge-area man was thrown into the water during a boating accident west of the city Friday night. Pierre Deputy Fire Chief Ian Paul tells KCCR radio that the body was recovered Sunday afternoon.

The victim is in his 60s. Authorities did not immediately release his name.
