In the video above Bob McDill talks about writing the great Don Williams country classic 'Good Old Boys Like Me'.  But that's only the beginning.

Bob has written 31 #1 hits.  Thirty One!

The artist's who have recorded Bob's songs reads like a 'who's who', not only of country music, but music in general.  Just to drop some names, how about Waylon Jennings, Mickey Gilley, Alan Jackson, heck Bobby Bare recorded an entire album of Bob McDill songs in the 1970's.

Then of course, his songs have also been recorded by the likes of Joe Cocker and Ray Charles.  Remember Sam The Sham and The Pharoahs from the 1960's?  Yes, they recorded McDill songs, too.

Bob retired from songwriting in 2000 and is happily retired now at the age of 71.

Oh, and let's listen to that great Don Williams Bob McDill penned classic.
