A Blizzard Warning  has been issued for Sioux Falls. The warning is in effect from noon Sunday until noon Monday. Strong wins will make blowing and drifting snow a major hazard Sunday into Monday. It could be a very dangerous situation, especially for travelers. You can find links to road reports here.

Here is a briefing from the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls.

The snow will begin to wind down tonight as a powerful winter storm system begins to move east of the region. However, increasing north to northwest winds will result in blizzard conditions tonight over much of southeast South Dakota and far western Minnesota, where storm total snowfall amounts of 5 to 10 inches are anticipated by late tonight. The very strong winds and blizzard conditions will continue into Monday along and east of Interstate 29. This is still a very dangerous storm situation, and anyone with travel plans should consider postponing their trip until conditions improve late Monday or Tuesday.
