Blake Shelton took home his fifth (that’s right, fifth!) statue for Male Vocalist of the Year at the 2014 CMA Awards.

Shelton took the stage with a huge smile on his face, giving a big hug to presenter Trisha Yearwood before scanning Bridgestone Arena's packed house in awe.

“I really thought Luke was gonna win this thing this year!” Shelton exclaimed after accepting his award. “I could not be more proud to win this award tonight. This means so much to me. This is a big night for my family, so it's amazing to be a part of this."

Shelton also took the time to pay homage to country music singer Earl Thomas Conley, whom he says is one of his biggest influences.

"I also want to say one thing -- they put a book under our seats before this show and it tells who all the past winners of CMAs are," said Shelton. "I saw tonight my all-time hero has never won one of these, so I want to dedicate this award tonight to my hero, Earl Thomas Conley."

It certainly was a big night for Shelton and his wife, Miranda Lambert. Not only did he take home the Male Vocalist of the Year award one more time, but she nabbed Female Vocalist of the Year for the fifth year in a row, as well. Winning certainly does run in the family for these two.
