Blake Shelton has confirmed some big news: He and girlfriend Gwen Stefani will perform a song they wrote together off his upcoming album If I'm Honest next week on The Voice.

Shelton and Stefani wrote "Go Ahead and Break My Heart" together, and Stefani is featured on the song. She revealed the album's track listing on Twitter the same day Shelton released the album's artwork.

The couple co-wrote the song in October of 2015, before they confirmed their relationship, and in an interview with People, Shelton explained that they were initially hesitant to put the song out into the world.

“We were at a point where it’s like, ‘Do we want to go there? What will people think?'” Shelton says. “And then we finally just got to the point where it’s like, ‘You know what? I don’t give a s–t.'”

As Shelton explains, he was insecure about his writing, as well as other people’s perception. “I’m insecure about my writing and who I write with and I don’t know — I’m just weird about it sometimes,” he admits.

“I think Gwen has a smaller circle too when it comes to writing, and the fact that we went there that early as we were getting to know each other, it’s just remarkable.”

While the couple have already been in the studio together and are set to sing the song next week on The Voice, Shelton shares that he still is intimidated by his girlfriend.

"I’m intimidated by Gwen all the time,” he jokes. “Any time I take a step back and think, ‘Wow, to me she’s Gwen, but she’s Gwen Stefani, you know what I mean? It’s like a self check every now and then. Whoa, I’m hanging out with literally the coolest girl in the world and I get to hang out with her. Just having a meal with her sometimes, it’s like, ‘Whoa, that’s her sitting up there!'"

Shelton and Stefani will appear together on The Voice on Monday (May 9). Shelton's If I'm Honest is in stores on May 20, and he'll visit Colorado to perform at Country Jam 2016 in June.
