Blake Shelton's father, Richard Lee Shelton, died in 2012 after being hospitalized with pneumonia. Four years later, the singer's dad is being honored at St. Anthony hospital in Shawnee, Okla.

A fountain has been constructed in a new wing of the hospital, dedicated to Dick Shelton. Shelton shared his appreciation on Twitter, as well as a photo of the water feature, which illuminates in blue.

Shelton's father's health declined rapidly in 2011, and the singer dedicated one of his trophies at the 2011 American Country Awards to him.

"I want to say hi to my dad back home ... he's been having a pretty rough couple of weeks, and I know he's watching tonight," Shelton remarked at the time. "I love you, Dad, and I dedicate this to you, man. Thank you."

Shortly after the show, Shelton flew home to Oklahoma to be by his father's side. Richard Lee Shelton passed away on Jan. 17, 2012 surrounded by loved ones.

Shelton recently released the first single off his upcoming album, "Came Here to Forget," which paints the picture of two people trying to move on from exes who did them wrong with lines like, “Getting even with her / Getting even with him.”

Shelton's twelfth studio album, If I’m Honest, will be released on May 20.
