South Dakotans will get an opportunity to feel the Bern this Thursday.

Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders will be making a stop in the Rushmore state on Thursday, May 12, 2016.

If you're a Sanders supporter and would like an opportunity to see Bernie speak, you'll have to head west if you reside in the eastern half of the state.

Senator Sanders South Dakota stop will begin with a visit to the Pine Ridge Reservation.

He plans to attend a Community Meeting in the New Gym of Pine Ridge School. Doors will open at 8:45 on Thursday morning, the event is free to the public and will begin at 10:45.

From there, Sanders will continue on to Rapid City where his campaign will host a 'Future to Believe In Rally' at Memorial Park. Admission for that event begins at noon. Sanders will speak at 2 p.m.

Suzanne Jones Pranger Executive Director of the South Dakota Democratic Party said, "I think he'll find an active, enthusiastic group of progressives ready to fight on behalf of our shared values this fall—open and transparent government that serves the people over special interests, access to quality education and affordable health care."

Senator Sanders will discuss a wide range of issues during both events.

UPDATE:

Sanders has added a stop in Sioux Falls Thursday evening. The rally will be at the Sioux Falls Convention Center. Doors will open at 5:00 PM with the rally starting at 7:30 PM.
