A South Dakota inmate has been reported missing after authorities say he walked away from a minimum-security prison unit in Sioux Falls.

The state Department of Corrections said in a news release that 36-year old David Holloway was reported missing at the South Dakota State Penitentiary campus Sunday morning. About 225 inmates are housed in the minimum-security unit at the prison.

The corrections department said Holloway is serving a ten year sentence for grand theft in Pennington County and a two year sentence for eluding a police officer in Yankton County.

According to the agency, Holloway is a six foot tall white man with brown hair and brown eyes, and weighs about 180 pounds.

The corrections department asks anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact law enforcement immediately.
