BB Gun Vandalism Worse Than Sioux Falls Police Thought

On Tuesday, Authorities had tallied about 40 reports of car windows shot by BB guns. One day later that list grew to over 100.

The frustrating part of this rash of crime is that list of leads in solving these cases is pretty short. Sioux Falls Police are concentrating their effort on finding an older model van that is green in color.

What police do know is that these shootings happened from early Sunday to early Tuesday. Officer Sam Clemens also indicated that the lion’s share has been concentrated on the east side.

“There’s a few (car windows) that are on the west side, but we’re not sure if it happened there or if that’s where the report was made.”

Clemens said even houses and businesses were a part of the investigation of being pelted by a round from a BB gun. A greenhouse window on East 12th Street, a house window on South 4th Avenue and Benson Dental on W. 37th Street all submitted damage claims.
