When my wife and I moved our family to the Southeast corner of Sioux Falls we had no idea what kind of neighborhood we were going to be in. In fact when we moved we were the last house on the street. For a couple of summers the street actually stopped at our house. For the first couple of years we were that close to being in the country.

I remember looking out the window of our house when the realtor told us, I think there's a ball park going in over there. At first I was concerned, would the lights be a hassle, would people be parking on our street and headed over to the fields at all times of day?  We were mildly concerned.

I couldn't be happier with the way things turned out. We watched them build Harmondon Park, field by field, fence by fence. If you haven't taken a stroll through, you really should sometime. They have an awesome championship field with an old time, yet modern grandstand. The facility if first rate all the way around with concrete walkways and nice restrooms and concession stands.

The 8 plex of softball diamonds to the east of the baseball fields are equally impressive. Our three boys all played softball so we have seen our share of softball fields. Harmondon Park in Sioux Falls is as nice as you'll find anywhere. And the Parks and Rec department do a great job keeping things ups. The walking paths make a great place to take a walk year round.

Oh, yeah the baseball. What I like most about Harmondon Park is listening to a game going on with the windows open in the house. The tink of the ball on an aluminum bat. Best of all, you can head out most any time and check out an inning or two of a game. Just walk over and watch a bit.

If you haven't been to Sioux Falls Harmondon Park you should this weekend. The weathers going to be great. You can bet there will be a game or two to sit and watch.
