We have an Attorney General’s race in South Dakota.  Chad Haber will be able to pursue the office as the Libertarian Candidate and take on incumbent Republican Marty Jackley.

South Dakota Secretary of State Jason Gant certified Haber on Monday after consulting with former Attorney General Mark Meierhenry.  The determining factor for Haber was that he registered as a Libertarian on the Friday before the Saturday August 9 convention.  By filing that day instead of at the convention his registration met the standard of being affiliated with the Libertarian Party.

However, the other candidate whose registration was in question was rejected.  Ryan Gaddy will not be a Libertarian candidate for the Public Utilities Commission.  His candidacy was thwarted because he registered as a Libertarian the day of the convention.
