Thursday, June 12th, was National Jerky Day, and in honor of the big day, Jack Link's beef jerky company built a replica of South Dakota's Mount Rushmore made out of beef jerky and placed it in the center of New York City.

Called Meat Rushmore, the monument weighed in at 1,600 pounds and measured approximately 13' x 17' with the base of the sculpture hand carved from structural foam.

Although some harshly criticized the company for not having a better use for the food, the meaty faces of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln are proudly displayed in the Big Apple.

By the way, If all the jerky pieces used were laid out in a line, it would stretch over 5 miles. I had a naughty dream like that once.
