Avera Joins Coalition Focusing on Personalized Cancer Care

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — Avera Health has joined an international coalition that focuses on personalized cancer care.

The health system on Tuesday announced that it has become the fifth medical center in the U.S. to join the Worldwide Innovative Networking Consortium.

The coalition brings together academic, industry, insurance and nonprofit research organizations to improve cancer survival rates and the quality of life of patients.

Doctor Brian Leyland-Jones is vice president of the Avera Center for Precision Oncology. He says the WIN Consortium gives patients access to innovative clinical trials and drugs.
