MITCHELL, S.D. (AP) — Authorities say a fire that destroyed an unoccupied house in Mitchell has been deemed suspicious.

Assistant Fire Chief Paul Morris tells the Mitchell Daily Republic that the early Friday morning blaze is under investigation. He says no one was injured in the fire but the house has been declared a total loss.

Morris says the cause of the fire is undetermined.

The house had been listed for sale.
