ANDOVER, S.D. (AP) — Authorities have identified a Minnesota man who died in a weekend crash on U.S. Highway 12 in northeastern South Dakota.

The Highway Patrol says 50-year-old Dennis Paulson, of Raymond, Minnesota, was driving a minivan that was in the wrong lane and collided with a recreational vehicle towing a Jeep. He was pronounced dead at the scene shortly before 12:30 AM Sunday.

One of the five people in the RV suffered minor injuries.

Authorities say a car that was traveling through the crash scene hit a tire that had come off the RV. Both occupants of the car suffered injuries that are not considered life-threatening.

The highway's westbound lanes were shut down for about 4 ½ hours.
