Jeff Thurn

EDUCATION: I was born in Asheville, NC and I grew up in Sioux Falls, SD and moved up the ranks from JFK to Memorial to Roosevelt. From there I went to the University of Minnesota and ended up in Nashville, TN and received my Bachelors in Communications with a minor in Criminal Justice from Tennessee State University. CAREER: I began my sports radio career at the Sporting News Radio Affiliate in Nashville in 2008 and hosted the award winning show "Sports Xtra" until the end of 2010. In February of 2011 I joined SiriusXM Satellite Radio as a producer/co-host on the College Sports Nation Channel91 until June of 2012. Then I began "Overtime" on Sioux Falls Sports Leader ESPN 99.1 in July 2012 on a weekly basis and now doing "Overtime" Weekdays from 3-6pm. PERSONAL: I met my lovely wife Paige in 2006 at the University of Minnesota. We moved down to Nashville, TN together where she received her Masters Degree in School Psychology and her Education Specialist Degree from Tennessee State University and is now the School Psychologist for the West Central School District. We got married in Nashville in July of 2011 and it was TRULY THE BEST DAY of my life. We currently have no kids, but a petting zoo at our house in Hartford with 3 dogs and a cat. WORDS OF WISDOM: Live Life to the Fullest!!! I am very blessed to be back in the Sioux Empire and working for ESPN 99.1... I hope that "Overtime" brings this market a fresh new concept, great guests and the best sports coverage in the area. YOU the listeners make my job a pleasure.
