Michael Fassbender, Jude Law and Bradley Cooper all now have something in common, as Cooper is the third actor to exit from 'Jane Got a Gun,' the troubled Natalie Portman production that had its director replaced.
Though DreamWorks Animation has had some hits ('Shrek 2,' believe it or not, is one of the top ten highest grossing films of all time), their last film at Paramount ,'Rise of the Guardians,' was such a flop that it caused the studio to reduce ranks. Fortunately that may have just been some bad luck as their most recent film 'The Croods' is so successful that the studio has just announced a sequel.
The 'Carrie' remake trailer doesn't seem to be holding anything back. We don't mean that it's extra gory, we mean this trailer seems to show pretty much everything that happens in the movie. The classic Walt Disney animated films have become ripe fodder for big budget live action remakes. They've already updated 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs' twice, they've filmed a new version of 'Sleeping Beauty' ('Maleficent'), and are working on a re-imaging of 'Cinderella.' But they're far from done mining these classics, as Disney is now looking to do a new gritty version of 'Beauty and the Beast,' called 'The Beast.'
There had been rumors that Sam Raimi -- who's on board as a producer -- would helm the remake of Tobe Hooper's 'Poltergeist,' but they didn't come to pass. Gil Kenan, best known for being behind the motion captured 'Monster House' and live-action film 'City of Ember,' just landed the job as the remake's director.
'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes,' and the new approach to the 'PotA' films is decidedly different than the tact taken in the 1970's. There, each sequel was given a smaller and smaller budget and with fewer name talents. Not so with 'Dawn,' as it just added Gary Oldman to the cast.
'Anchorman: The Legend Continues' is actually happening, and casting is coming together now. Will Ferrell, Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, David Koechner, Christina Applegate, and Kristen Wiig are already signed on, and now word is that James Marsden has joined the cast as a rival anchor.
