ATV Crash on Private Property near Edgemont Kills Boy
EDGEMONT, S.D. (AP) — An all-terrain vehicle crash near Edgemont killed an 11-year-old boy.
State Department of Public Safety spokesman Tony Mangan tells the Rapid City Journal that Logan Van Eaton was one of two passengers on an ATV driven by a 17-year-old boy.
Mangan says the ATV hit a hole and rolled onto its side. The driver and a 16-year-old female passenger weren't hurt, but the 11-year-old fell off and the ATV rolled on top of him. His injuries proved fatal.
The incident happened last Wednesday on private property about 8 miles east of Edgemont.
