RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) - An attempted murder trial scheduled to begin this week in Rapid City has been postponed after the defendant's attorney withdrew from the case.

Twenty-one-year-old Kelsey Reavis is accused of shooting 28-year-old Christopher Levin in the head with a handgun after a confrontation at a house party in April 2012. Levin has since recovered.

Reavis has pleaded not guilty to attempted murder and alternate counts of aggravated assault.

Defense attorney Betsey Harris recently learned she previously represented a state witness in the case. The judge has appointed a new defense attorney, Jon Murphy. The trial start has been pushed back to Sept. 3.
